AMAZON ALIVE - Wins on the International Forest Film Festival (USA)

The first part of Christian Baumeister´s series „Amazon Alive - Jungle of the Mind“ received a special jury award for its outstanding integration of the historical, biological and cultural elements of the Amazon Basin rainforest at the International Forest Film Festival (IFFF).
The International Forest Film Festival is launched by the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival and the United Nations Forum on Forests Secretariat to celebrate the International Year of Forests 2011. Christian Baumeister proudly presented the film on February 3rd in front of a delegation of decisionmakers of 192 countriese at the UN headquarters in New York.
The film festival is part of a global effort to raise awareness on the importance of forests, their relationship with people and the sustainable management, conservation and development of all types of forests. Following New York the winning films will tour around the world and shown on many political events dedicated to forest conservation.
The third film of the Amazon Alive series - Forest of the Future - too, was nominated in two categories: in the category Issues & Solutions for the film that most effectively communicates solutions to environmental and sustainability issues facing forests and their inhabitants, including people, and in the category This is My Forest for the film that tells the most moving personal expression or story of the forest.
